We have been with a great expediting company called “Try Hours”, since December 2022 — a full 14 months now. We have learned an incredible amount while here about this particular niche in trucking.
I intend to include the lessons learned in an upcoming post about expediting for those interested — however — with all of that said, we will shortly be changing companies.
It’s worth pointing out that Try Hours, out of Maumee, Ohio, is a great company with great people and excellent equipment. I wouldn’t have a problem recommending this company to any team out there. We have had a wonderful journey with Try Hours.
It’s important to weigh what a company has to offer with your own personal and financial needs. For James and I, there are things we want that Try Hours doesn’t offer — and guess what! — that’s OK. We want to book our own loads and Try Hours doesn’t use that model so unfortunately the time to move on lies ahead for us. And Yes, we’re going to miss everyone at Try Hours. With that said…
If you’re looking for an excellent company that has wonderful people in the back-office like Brent, Phil, Lish, LaVondre and so many more then call Thomas Henry, the Driver Manager — and tell him we sent ya! — to discuss the possibilities! You can find the Try Hours website right here.
I promised a few pictures of the truck and will include those below so you can see.
This is our beautiful custom cab with a kitchen, shower, hot water, APU, full bed. It’s 120” cab with a 22 foot box and a lift-gate. We’ve had some very good times in this truck. Interestingly, we never named this truck.
Cabinets are lit internally with colored lights that can be changed to a variety of colors! Calming 🙂 The shower is opposite the sink — and difficult to photograph!
Expediting is it’s own animal for sure…
The last week was spent in the Northwest, through the Dalles and up into the Portland area — one of the most beautiful places in the country in my opinion. It’s a bit tragic how the politics of the Portland area have become what they are.
I used to live in Portland, so I can speak from experience on that city.
When James and I first went there it was the closest to being a magical place as I have known… today …well, it’s different. We can leave that there. But it’s still quite beautiful.
James had a rough couple of days while on our return trip through Wyoming but is feeling quite good now.
Today our furry “Bella” the one who adopted herself and is full of vim and vigor got a bath! So, with a clean pooch, a full tank of fuel and a bit of rest over the weekend, we’ll be heading south once again the first of this next week.
Forgive me but I have to share these two images with you of the Bella-girl. She’s a character.
If I didn’t know her this might be scary to wake up to!
She sleeps this way sometimes!
Have an amazing day. Leave a comment if you feel so inclined… or not! But I’d love to read what you have to say 🙂
