ABOUT
Helping Couples Win In Trucking
OUR STORY
After well over 2 million miles in a semi truck together, earning more than a million dollars along the way, you could say me (Andrea) and my husband (James), know a little bit about husband/wife team trucking.
We have driven as a team roughly 6 of the last 10 years. We got our CDL’s (comercial drivers license) in February of 2014 and struck out on the open road — as a couple — traveling the country, deliverying freight of all kinds including everything from fresh fruit to high security loads to places most people will never see in their lifetimes.
It’s challenging. It’s rewarding. It’s an adventure.
YouTube
Once we made the decision to drive together professionally, as husband/wife team drivers, it seemed worthwhile to create a visual journal if you will… of the adventure! That’s when I started the LovinTruckin USA YouTube channel.
In the very beginning, there wasn’t much rhyme or reason to the channel. I was capturing what I could in the moment, editing it on my iPhone, which was like trying to put an elephant in a thimble! Even though those videos are not very good by any standard I can think of — I leave them on the channel simply for the nostalgia of where everything started.
It has been an honor to see 25,000 people around the world enjoying the videos and commenting — most of the comments are wonderful. We have met a number of our subscribers in the flesh — which was also a great experience along the way. We have many friends because of the channel that I adore and hope to make many more!
My YouTube channel has lain dormant for awhile now. It still receives visitors (for which I’m very happy) but nothing new has been added since the end of 2018. While I DO have plans to re-ignite the video production artist in my heart, it’s a matter of timing! I’m loving building this website, writing and getting the LovinTruckin private email list off the ground… where I can share with subscribers in a more intimate and personal way and James and I are loving it!
A new member of our crew
In late October of 2021, a big change came along. Something changed in our lives and not necessarily by choice! The beautiful furry creature in the passenger seat there — is “Bella”. And yes, she adopted us.
She popped out of the woods as a skinny, six-month old puppy, intent on getting our attention. James and I both thought she had to belong to someone so we kept telling her “Go home” — a command she promptly ignored.
For a whole day, she did everything possible to get us to like her. Not that it was difficult from the very first moment — but we had no plans or place for a dog! And then it happened…
I bent over to pick up a tree branch that needed to go from where it had fallen, to a burn pile, some 50 feet away.
As I walked along dragging this rather awkward limb, I felt the burden get easier. I looked back and there she was — the dog who had not yet been named — with the other end of the branch in her mouth, doing her best to help me carry it to the pile.
I was toast — and James was toast. Now she drives most of the miles! (just kidding, she doesn’t have her CDL yet!)
About Us Pages
About Us pages are the strangest things. I always look at them because I’m curious. Is it just me? – or does everyone wander to the about us page too?
What you might want to know about us — I’ll take a guess…
MARRIAGE: James and I got married January 6, 2014. Auspicious day, I know. However… we had been together by that time, since 1998. Apparently, it took awhile to decide! Only kidding. We actually had the same last name — so that slowed things down a little bit.
BACKGROUND: Andrea
I grew up all over the U.S., as a military kid — and came into this world, in Newfoundland, Province of Labrador where my Dad was stationed at the time, during the cold-war scare. My birth certificate was lost, which meant I had to go to court at the age of 12, to be naturalized as an American citizen — the country my father was defending, as an officer in the military. Can’t make this stuff up! 🙂
My family moved 18 times during my childhood. It never felt difficult for me because my parents taught us that family was “home” rather than a particular place. Dad was career Air Force with 27 years in the Air Force and 3 years in the National Guard before that.
I have two brothers: one older – Russ and one younger – Kelly. I’m the middle child and as Dad used to say, “you’re my #1 daughter”.
My background has always been geared toward the arts and the inner journey. Creating, understanding and teaching through sharing ideas are the core of my mission in life.
I have and continue to work professionally in many areas of artistic endeavor including music, singing/songwriting, photography, web design, interior design, furniture design and creation, lamps, drawing (pencil/charcoal) — building things. I love building things! Creating and sharing with people who genuinely want to share, learn, love and grow is like heaven on earth.
I’m an entrepreneur from birth :). Trucking is only the second time I’ve ever worked for someone else in my lifetime. And yet, that’s the interesting thing about trucking… no one stands over you on the open road.

BACKGROUND: James
I was born in Connecticut but grew up in the country, on a large piece of property in the woods, in Massachusetts. I have one brother, Kevin and two sisters, Kathy and Judith. I couldn’t be more thankful for my family today — and for growing up in the country with horses, trees, farmland, many ponds, lakes and dirt! I love all of that NOW even more than I did then.
At 17, my family moved from Massachusetts to Lakeland, Florida. I fell in love with sunshine and the sunshine state. In Florida, I met one of the first mentors of my life, who taught me the electrical trade. Over a 30+ year period, I worked in residential, commercial and industrial construction as a Journeyman, Journeyman Foreman, Project Manager and even tried my hand at owning my own electrical business.
When I met my future wife – Andrea – I wasn’t prepared for the places being around that woman would take me! I wired her photo studio (of course), tapped power for one of her music videos (ok, it wasn’t exactly legal), I helped build her music studio, learned to play bass because she asked me to (and loved it) and a whole lot more that won’t fit on this page. And THEN…
In 2013, my wife suggested the strangest thing I had ever heard come out of her mouth. She said, “What would you think of driving a big truck together?’
As good as I was at electrical work — and I know that I’m tooting my horn just a little there — but knowing you’re good at something and getting laid-off for the 4th time in 24 months, in Southern, California, where lay-offs were spreading through the trades like wildfire… I knew it was time for a change.
Career-wise, electrical work was where I had been and it became crystal clear it wasn’t where I wanted to go, moving forward.
My interests include building things, taking things apart and putting them back together, hunting, regenerative farming, the benefits of raw milk and a lot more that I’ll be sharing on this website and in our upcoming videos on the LT channel.
I’m excited about all that lies head.
