Embarking on a journey across the vast highways and byways of our country, I’ve learned over time that I am privy to a unique perspective of the world.
Through the windshield of a big rig, I get to witness the ever-changing landscapes, bustling cities, and charming towns that make up the fabric of our nation. Let’s face it, truck drivers are often unsung heroes of the road — and I’m not the only one who has an eye for the beauty that unfolds before me out here — many of my friends have a knack for grabbing incredible images too!
With my camera in hand (actually it’s a phone these days!) we manage to capture images that tell stories about the American landscape and the people who live here. That’s how I like to think of the photographs I get to take while on the road.
From the towering skyscrapers of metropolitan cities to the serene countryside dotted with farms and fields, my hope is that you’ll find these images offer a glimpse into the diverse tapestry of our country. The windshield acts as a frame, capturing moments that may otherwise go unnoticed. I challenge myself every day to — in some way — find beauty in the mundane, transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary compositions.
As you browse through this growing collection of photographs, I hope you are transported on a visual journey, experiencing the sights and sounds of the road from the comfort of our own homes. James and I get to see the sunsets that paint the sky in hues of orange and pink, the neon lights that illuminate the night, and the vast landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see and now you can too. I hope these images offer you a renewed appreciation for the often overlooked aspects of our daily lives.
No matter where we are, I never know what hidden gems await discovery! I’m so glad you’re here. If you enjoy this category, “Through My Lens”, post below and let me know what you think — and — if you have a photo you’d like me to share, I’d love to know about that too.
